Dear Parents, Children, Staff and Governors,

Welcome

Welcome back to a new school year. It is lovely to have all the children back in school, looking smart in their school uniforms and happy and eager to be back and begin learning. We have had a number of new children start at our school this week and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all these new children and their families to our school. We are all looking forward to the forthcoming academic year and continuing to build further on last years successes.

Extra-curricular Activities

We will beginning some of our after-school clubs next week – W/B 17th September. Starting next week –

Tuesdays 3-3.30 Craft Club for Key Stage 1

Wednesdays 3-4 Netball for Years 3,4,5 and 6

Wednesdays 3-4 ICT for Year 6

Thursday 3-4 Gardening Club for Key Stage 2 (bring a change of clothing or shoes!)

I look forward to writing to you again as soon as the school year gets underway with details of further clubs such as Choir which will be beginning shortly.

I am delighted that our Stay and Play After School Club will continue to operate this year each day after school from 3-5pm and our Breakfast Club each morning from 7.30-8.30 a.m. If you would like to know anymore about our Stay and Play After School or Breakfast Club please do not hesitate to contact us.

Fri 14th Sept – Key Stage 2 begin swimming lessons

Mon 17th Sept – First 11+ Test for Yr 6

Mon 17th Sept – 5.30 - 7 p.m. Hilltop 2007 Video Night for Parents

Mon 24th Sept – Second 11+ Test for Yr 6

Wed 26th Sept – Year 5 and 6 visit to see Starlight Express at Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham

Mon 8th Oct – 3-6 p.m Parents Evening

Tues 9th Oct – 3-6 p.m Parents Evening

Thurs 11th Oct – 9.15 a.m. – Harvest Festival Service, St Andrews Church, Halton Holegate

Wed 17th Oct – Open Morning – School Birthday celebration – 160 years

Thurs 18th Oct – Break-up

The first Parents Evening in October is an opportunity to meet your child’s Class Teacher to discuss how your child in settling into school this year and Class Teachers will be sharing with parents each child’s new learning targets. However if you would like to discuss anything with your child’s Class Teacher or myself before this date please do not hesitate to contact us.
